Volunteer with us
The Eastern Goldfields Historical Society is always in need of volunteers who are passionate about history – or who just like to give their community a helping hand.

Volunteers can help with research, in the library or with conservation and photographic work.

Our experienced members can provide advice and training in historical research, preventative conservation and compiling photographic records.

The Society’s opening hours are 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. We are also open on Boulder Market Days on the third Sunday of every month.

Donating items
From its inception in 1946 the Eastern Goldfields Historical Society has collected numerous items relating to living, working and mining in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. The collection consists of objects, textiles, furniture, documents and many thousands of photographs.

Items in the collection come primarily from individual donors. Their generosity is valued highly, and the Society is always willing to consider new donations that meet the Society’s Collection Policy.

Items for donation must have an Eastern Goldfields association, generally not be a duplicate of an item already in the collection, be in sound condition and able to be stored under appropriate conditions at the Society’s premises.

If you would like to donate an item to our collection, please contact us first with your name and contact details, a brief description of the item, a photograph and as much related history of the item as possible.

The Eastern Goldfields Historical Society does not purchase items or accept items on permanent loan to the collection.
